Die von \textit{Hofreiter} gefundene obere Schranke (vgl. voriges Referat) wird durch Benutzung des \textit{Korkine-Zolotoreff}schen Satzes über das Minimum einer quaternären definiten quadratischen Form nochmals herabgedrückt, und zwar werden jetzt die Approximationen \[ \left|\alpha - \frac pq \right| \leqq \frac c{|q|^2} \] nachgewiesen, wo \(c = \sqrt{\dfrac m8}\) für \(m \equiv 1 \pmod 4\) und \(c = \sqrt{\dfrac m2}\) für \(m \not\equiv 1 \pmod 4\) ist.
