Starting from the Stroh formalism of anisotropic elasticity, the authors derive explicit and compact formulae for integral kernels appearing in the case of Somigliana displacement and stress identities, and analyze the relations between these kernels. In particular, the Somigliana stress identity is derived directly from the Betti theorem on work reciprocity by using the singularity source of a dislocation dipole. The results obtained can be used in the stress analysis of anisotropic materials by the oscillation method as well as by the symmetric Galerkin boundary element method.
