Singular hyperelliptic curves are singular curves having a degree two morphism to the projective line. The curve is called of separable type (respectively of inseparable type) if this morphism is separable (respectively inseparable). The paper under review gives global equations for singular hyperelliptic curves and contains a characterization of those of inseparable type by means of its local rings. It also discusses the Weierstrass points on such hyperelliptic curves.
