In this article, the authors consider a special maximal operator \(M\) associated to a hyperparaboloid defined by \begin{align*} M f(x,y) = \sup_{t > 0} \frac{1}{|B^n|} \int_{B^n} f(x-tu, y - t^2 |u|^2 ) \, du, \end{align*} for locally integrable functions \(f\) in \( \mathbb{R}^n \times \mathbb{R} \), where \(B^n\) denotes the \(n\)-dimensional unite ball centered at the origin. The strong \(L^p\)-boundedness of \(M\) is established for \(1 < p \leq \infty\) (Theorem 1.1). Moreover, it is obtained that the \(L^2\)-boundedness of \(M\) can be controlled by \(C \cdot n^{1/8}\) (Theorem 1.2), where \(C\) is a positive constant independent of \(n\). The aforementioned results for \(M\) are located in the study of maximal operators associated with smooth hypersurfaces within harmonic analysis.
