The authors investigate that an error control by fully discrete a posteriori error estimators is possible with typical overestimation between 1.25 and 2.0 in simple computer benchmarks. Numerical simulations for three classes of applications illustrate the efficiency for Poisson problems. This article shows the most accurate energy norm error estimators which can be written as equilibrium error estimators. At the end of the paper, numerical experiments are given for Poisson problems using a finite element method. Finally, numerical results are illustrated by tables and graphics.
