The authors firstly present a construction of the Green's kernel for a class of matrix Dirichlet problems \[ Y''-A^2Y=F,\quad Y(0)=0=Y(1). \] Then, employing these results on the Green's kernel, they consider the beam differential equation with the Navier boundary conditions and obtain the pointwise maximum principle under appropriate conditions.
