The authors consider the initial value problem for the semilinear plate equation with a memory term in the space \(\mathbb R^n\), \(n\geq 1\): \[ u_{tt}+\Delta^2 u+u+g*\Delta u=f(u),\quad u(x,0)=u_0(x),\quad u_t(x,0)=u_1(x),\quad x\in \mathbb R^n,\;t>0. \] By using Fourier and Laplace transform they obtain the fundamental solutions and thus the solution to the corresponding linear problem. Appealing to the point wise estimate in the Fourier space of solutions to the linear problem, the estimates and properties of solutions operators are obtained. The global in-time existence and the optimal decay estimates of the solutions to the semilinear problem under smallness assumptions on the initial data are achieved by using time-weighted Sobolev spaces and the contraction mapping theorem.
