This paper takes a step towards understanding the relationship between Chekhov-Fock quantization and Kashaev quantization of Teichmüller space. Each of these two quantization schemes induces a ``dilogarithmic'' central extension of the Thompson group (or the Ptolemy-Thompson group) \(T\). \textit{L. Funar} and \textit{V. Sergiescu} previously studied the central extension \(\hat{T}^{\mathrm{CF}}\) of \(T\) induced by the Chekhov-Fock quantization, computing its class in \(H^{2}(T,\mathbb{Z})\) [J. Topol. 3, No. 1, 29--62 (2010; Zbl 1192.57003)]. The main result of this paper is a corresponding computation for the central extension \(\hat{T}^{\mathrm{Kash}}\) of \(T\) induced by the Kashaev quantization. In particular, \(\hat{T}^{\mathrm{CF}}\) and \(\hat{T}^{\mathrm{Kash}}\) are seen to be inequivalent in an interesting way.
