The authors consider a diffeomorphism \(f\) of a compact manifold \(M\) which contracts an invariant foliation \(W\) with smooth leaves. The differential of \(f\) on \(TW\) is supposed to have a narrow band spectrum, i.e., its Mather spectrum is contained in a finite union of closed annuli bounded by circles of radii \(e^{\lambda _i}\) and \(e^{\mu _i}\), where \(\lambda _1\leq \mu _1<\cdots <\lambda _l\leq \mu _l<0\) and \(\mu _i+\mu _l<\lambda _i\) for \(i=1,\ldots ,l\). Then there exist coordinates \(H_x:W_x\rightarrow T_xW\) in which \(F|_W\) has a polynomial form. A modified approach allows to construct maps \(H_x\) depending smoothly on \(x\) along the leaves of \(W\). Each leaf has a coherent atlas with transition maps in a finite-dimensional Lie group. The results apply to \(C^1\)-small perturbations of algebraic systems.
