The existence of traveling waves in partial differential equation is equivalent to the existence of solutions to boundary value problems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). The author assumes that the corresponding ODE has the form \(Q(u,u',u'',\dots)= 0\), where \(Q\) is a polynomial in \(u\) of order \(n\). He presents a procedure to look for a solution of this ODE in the form \[ u(\xi)= \sum^n_{i=0} a_i(F(\xi))^i, \] where \(a_i\) are constants to be determined and \(F\) is a solution of some simple DE. In one of the presented examples he considers the Kodomtsev-Petviashvili equation and as simple equation the Bernoulli equation.
