The paper discusses the problem of extending basic AGM belief revision theory to include significant principles about iterated revision. It makes some reference to the well-known postulates and models of Boutilier (1996) and particularly of Darwiche and Pearl (1997), but only as illustrative examples of what the author argues are flawed constructions. In his view, an adequate account of iterated belief change should be based on philosophical reflection about what the concepts of accepting or fully believing a proposition mean. The paper concludes that little in the way of formal constraints for iterated belief revision is available, at least for languages that lack resources for expressing information about the sources of inputs and about various kinds of independence.
