The paper under review describes an approach to computing integral points on hyperbolic curves that interpolates between the Birch--Swinnerton-Dyer conjectures and Grothendieck's Section conjecture. Specifically, the authors state the following conjecture: Let \(\mathcal{X}\) be a minimal \(\mathbb{Z}\)-model over \(\mathbb{Q}\) of a hyperbolic curve. For large enough positive integers \(n\), we have \(\mathcal{X}(\mathbb{Z}_p)_n=\mathcal{X}(\mathbb{Z})\), where the \(\mathcal{X}(\mathbb{Z}_p)_n\) are certain subsets of the \(\mathbb{Z}_p\)-integral points of \(\mathcal{X}\) satisfying \(\mathcal{X}(\mathbb{Z}_p)_n\subset\mathcal{X}(\mathbb{Z}_p)_{n-1}\) for all \(n\). This conjecture was first formulated by the third author in 2012, and the primary purpose of the paper under review is to provide evidence for the conjecture, and to explain connections between it and the Birch--Swinnerton-Dyer and Grothendieck Section conjectures. In particular, the authors verify the conjecture for a punctured elliptic curve of rank zero.
