Let G be a real exponential (solvable) Lie group, \({\mathfrak g}\) the Lie algebra of G, \({\mathfrak g}^*\) the dual of \({\mathfrak g}\) and \(\hat G\) be unitary dual of G. Bernat, Pukanszky and others described \(\hat G\) and developed the theory of harmonic analysis on G, thus extending to G the results and methods of Kirillov for nilpotent groups. In this paper the authors obtain some of these results again. A product - called * product - defined on functions on \({\mathfrak g}^*\) plays an important part here and differs from the methods of Kirillov and others. In order to define this product a finite partition of \({\mathfrak g}^*\) by Borel subsets is obtained and it is shown that each member of the partition is Borel isomorphic to \({\mathbb{R}}^{2k}\) for suitable k. The natural symplectic structure on \({\mathbb{R}}^{2k}\) and the product it defines on \(C^{\infty}({\mathbb{R}}^{2k})\) are pulled back to the members of the partition to give the desired product.
