The author introduces a new function space which unifies and generalizes the Besov-type and the Triebel-Lizorkin-type function spaces introduced by \textit{S. Jaffard} [J. Math. Phys. 39, No.~8, 4129--4141 (1998; Zbl 0930.42021)] and \textit{D. C. Yang} and \textit{W. Yuan} [Math. Z. 265, No.~2, 451--480 (2010; Zbl 1191.42011); J. Funct. Anal. 255, No.~10, 2760--2809 (2008; Zbl 1169.46016)]. This new function space covers the Besov spaces and the Triebel-Lizorkin spaces in the homogeneous case, and further the Morrey spaces. The \(\varphi\)-transform characterizations, and the atomic and molecular decomposition characterizations of the new function space are established. Moreover, in the inhomogeneous case, a characterization by local polynomial approximation is given. As application, the boundedness of the Calderón-Zygmund operator and the trace theorem on the new function space are investigated.
