On the completion of the G-equivariant unitary cobordism rings of G- spaces (Q788343): Difference between revisions

Let G be a compact Abelian Lie group and X a G-space. Then one can define equivariant unitary cobordism theories \(U^*_ G(X)\) and \(U^*((EG\times X)/G)\), as well as equivariant K-theory \(K^*_ G(X)\). The aim here is the study of \(U^*_ G(X)\) and its relation to the other theories above, after suitable completion and localization. The authors obtain a completion theorem for \(U^*_ G(X)\) and \(U^*((EG\times X)/G)\), under restrictive assumptions. The methods used are standard ones in cobordism and K-theory.
