Let \(G\) be a finite group. A subgroup \(H\) of \(G\), with core \(H_G\) in \(G\), is called \(p\)-nilpotent \(s\)-supplemented in \(G\) if \(G=HK\) and \(K/K\cap H_G\) is \(p\)-nilpotent. Further criteria, reaching beyond the results by \textit{L. Miao} and \textit{W. Guo} [Commun. Algebra 33, No. 8, 2789-2800 (2005; Zbl 1084.20014)], for the \(p\)-nilpotency of \(G\) are provided such as: If the order of \(G\) is divisible by the prime \(p\) and is relatively prime to \(p-1\), then every second-maximal subgroup of a Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of \(G\) is \(p\)-nilpotent \(s\)-supplemented.
