Die Verff. untersuchen das Cauchy Problem \(Pu=f,\quad D^ j_ tu|_{t=0}=g_ j,\quad j=0,1,...,m-k-1,\) wobei der Differentialoperator \(P(t,x,D_ t,D_ x)\) die Form \(P=t^ kP_ m+t^{k-1}P_{m-1}+...+P_{m-k}\) hat, und k,m ganze positive Zahlen, \(k\leq m\) sind. Die Operatoren \(P_{m-j}\) sind von der Ordnung m-j \((j=0,1,...,k)\) und haben glatte Koeffizienten. Der Operator \(P_ m\) ist strikt hyperbolisch.
