The author gives an elementary self contained introduction to the elliptic \(6j\)-symbols including several properties of such objects. The author starts considering the well known case of \(6j\)-symbols and its \(q\) analogues (that are related to the Kravchuk and \(q\)-Racah polynomials, respectively), then he introduce the trigonometric \(6j\)-symbols (related to the Askey-Wilson polynomials) and concludes with the elliptic case (which is more general and contains all the previous cases). Finally, he gives a new algebraic interpretation of the elliptic \(6j\)-symbols in terms of the representation theory of the Sklyanin algebra.
