This article represents a beautiful application of functional analysis in connection with ordered Banach spaces together with their order defining cones (having non-empty interior, being normal cones) and with non-separable Banach (or Hilbert) spaces together with the (not first-countable at 0) balls in their dual spaces with the weak-star topology. The paper considers exchange economies with a measure space of traders and a Banach space as commodity space and contains fully proved and interpreted results concerning the set of core allocations (to be not empty) and the set of Walrasian allocations and relations between them. The ``desirable assumptions'' of \textit{R. Tourky} and \textit{C. N. Yannelis} [J. Econ. Theory 101, 189--221 (2001; Zbl 1008.91073)] belong to the necessary conditions for the proved results to be valid. Furthermore some remarks are given with respect to older results in non-separable Hibert spaces, that also hold in non-separable Banach spaces.
