The author looks at a possibly degenerating evolution equation posed in porous media with vanishing porosity. The analysis is done analyze for a given porosity function, which describes the evolution of the underlying porous medium. The discussion copes only with the saturated case. Using suitable weighted function spaces to include the degenerate parameters as weights of Muckenhoupt class, the author handles the underlying equations via saddle-point theory or an adjusted Rothe method by applying the useful properties of such weighted function spaces.
