It is shown that the Schrödinger Hamiltonian \(H_{\epsilon}=-\Delta +\epsilon^{-2}\sum^{n}_{j=1}\lambda_ j(\epsilon)V_ j((1/\epsilon)(.-x_ j))\quad on\quad L^ 2({\mathbb{R}}^ 3),\) where \(\lambda_ j\) is analytic, \(\lambda_ j(0)=1\), \(V_ j\) satisfies \((1+|\cdot |)^ 2V_ j\in R\cap L^ 1({\mathbb{R}}^ 3)\) (R being the Rollnik class), converges in strong resolvent sense as \(\epsilon \downarrow 0\) to the point interaction Hamiltonian formally given by \(- \Delta +\sum^{n}_{j=1}\mu_ j\delta (.-x_ j).\) If \(V_ j\in R\) has compact support, it is shown convergence in norm resolvent sense. Furthermore it is proved that the eigenvalues and resonances which remain bounded are analytic in \(\epsilon\) and converge to the eigenvalues and resonances of the point interactions Hamiltonian as \(\epsilon \downarrow 0\). The first order coefficients are computed explicitly.
