The asymptotic behaviour, as \(t\to\infty\), of the solution \(\rho= \rho(x,t)\) of the diffusion equation \[ {\partial\rho\over\partial t}= \text{div}(|\nabla\rho^m|^{p-2} \nabla\rho^m) \] is studied. Here \(\rho\geq 0\) and \(\rho\) is defined in the whole \(\mathbb{R}^n\times (0,\infty)\). The case \(p= 2\) is the porous medium equation and the case \(m= 1\) is the evolutionary \(p\)-Laplace equation. The decay is measured in the \(L^1\)-norm and the Wasserstein distances. Explicit comparison functions are available. In Lemma 3.1 the author provides the sharp constant in the inequality \[ |b|^p\geq |a|^p+ p\langle|a|^{p-2} a,b-a\rangle+ C_p|b- a|^p \] when \(p\geq 2\). We remark that also the counterpart for \(p< 2\) is treated in Lemma 4.2 of \textit{P. Lindqvist} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 109, No. 1, 157--164 (1990; Zbl 0714.35029)].
