The author considers (skew-) symmetric bilinear \({\mathbb{Z}}\)-lattices together with an isometric action of a group G. He first obtains a finiteness theorem for lattices of given discriminant on a given semisimple \({\mathbb{C}}G\)-module when G is finitely generated. For finite G he then determines the Tamagawa number for the automorphism group of a bilinear \({\mathbb{Q}}G\)-module and establishes the generalization of Siegel's mass formula. Finally, the local densities occurring in this formula are computed explicitly in the following special case: G is abelian, the genus is definite symmetric and unimodular, the underlying \({\mathbb{Q}}G\)- module is isotypic and has an mth cyclotomic field, m not a power of 2, as the centre of its endomorphism ring.
