The paper deals with the equation \(u_{tt}=u_{xx}+| u| ^{p-1}u.\) The authors characterize all the solutions of associated stationary problem as a one parameter family. Then using energy arguments and dispersive estimates they show that the solution of the above equation approaches this family in the energy norm in the case of non-characteristic points and to a finite decoupled sum of such solutions in characteristic case. Finally, if this sum is reduced to one element, which is the non-characteristic case, they show the exponential convergence (in self-similar time variables) of the various parameters.
