A new class of commutative superalgebras is defined in the paper under review, and its first properties are studied. A \textit{Lie antialgebra} is defined as a commutative superalgebra such that the even part is associative, the right multiplication by any odd element is an odd derivation, and \(\alpha(\beta a)={1\over 2}(\alpha\beta)a\), for any even elements \(\alpha,\beta\) and odd element \(a\). Two main examples are highlighted. The first one is the \textit{tiny Kaplansky superalgebra}, which is the only, up to isomorphism, three-dimensional nonunital simple Jordan superalgebra. The second one satisfies that its even part is the ring of Laurent polynomials in one variable, while the odd part is an isomorphic copy of the same ring. Some connections of Lie antialgebras with Lie and Jordan superalgebras, and with symplectic geometry, are explained. Over the complex field, it is shown that the only simple finite-dimensional Lie antialgebra is, up to isomorphism, the tiny Kaplansky superalgebra.
