Edge sequences, ribbon tableaux, and an action of affine permutations (Q1283313): Difference between revisions

This is a summary of results on ribbon tableaux and a description of a natural action of the affine Coxeter group of type \(\widetilde{A}_{r-1}\) on the \(r\)-rim hook lattice. This leads to the concept of chains in \(r\)-ribbon tableaux, generalizing the notion of chains in domino tableaux. The author derives some basic combinatorial properties of these chains and of the operation of moving them in the ribbon tableaux.
