It is interesting to explore the intrinsic characteristics of distance functions. There are many applications in gauge fields, control theory, harmonic analysis. This paper consider the distance function associated with Carnot-Carathéodory spaces and gives some remarkable conclusions. This work will contribute the development of distance function in some applied fields.
