Every order continuous Banach lattice with a weak unit is isometric to a space \(L^1\) of a vector measure \(\nu\). This useful general result provides a nice representation technique for Banach lattices, which is restricted in several senses, for example, if the space is not order continuous (a \(C(K)\) space), or it has no order unit (the case of an \(\ell^p(\Gamma)\) space, for an uncountable set \(\Gamma\)). However, the representation technique can be specialized in some cases. For instance, a classical result by \textit{G. P. Curbera} [Pac. J. Math. 162, No.~2, 287--303 (1994; Zbl 0791.46021)] states that, if \(\nu\) is a non-atomic Banach-space-valued vector measure defined on a \(\sigma\)-algebra and \( L^1(\nu)\) is separable, then there is a vector measure \(\hat \nu\) with values in \(c_0\) such that \(L^1(\nu)=L^1(\hat \nu)\) with equal norms. The present paper starts by studying a question addressed by Lipecki, who asked whether a non-separable version of the above mentioned result can be obtained by using \(c_0(\Gamma)\) as target space for large enough \(\Gamma\). In this deep article, some partial answers are given by using certain superspaces of \(c_0(\Gamma)\). In particular, the following results are given. Theorem 1.2. Let \(k\) be an infinite cardinal. Let \(\nu\) be a vector measure defined on a \(\sigma\)-algebra \(\Sigma\) and taking values in a Banach space. If \(\nu\) is homogeneous and \(L^1(\nu)\) has density character \(k\), then there is a vector measure \(\hat \nu:\Sigma \to \ell^\infty_< (k)\) such that \(L^1(\nu)=L^1(\hat \nu)\) with equal norms. Theorem 1.3. Let \(\nu\) be a vector measure defined on a \(\sigma\)-algebra \(\Sigma\) and taking values in a Banach space. If \(\nu\) is non-atomic and \(L^1(\nu)\) has density character \(\omega_1\), then there is a vector measure \(\hat \nu:\Sigma \to \ell^\infty_c (\omega_1)\) such that \(L^1(\nu)=L^1(\hat \nu)\) with equivalent norms. Some interesting comments regarding non-separable Banach lattices, Hilbert generated Banach spaces and integral representations are also given.
