It is a nice, well written and well motivated paper on large sparse non-Hermitian positive definite systems of linear equations. The author presents two variants of Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting (HSS) method, namely: -- the skew-normal splitting (SNS) method and -- the skew-scaling splitting (SSS) method. He analyses their convergence and points cases when both SNS and SSS iterations may show faster convergence speeds than the HSS iteration.
