Brauer groups and cohomology (Q1779980): Difference between revisions

The author proves that for separated, noetherian, generically reduced, 2-dimensional schemes whose finite subsets admit affine open neighborhoods, the Brauer group equals the cohomological Brauer group. This was proved for separated geometrically normal algebraic surfaces in [\textit{S. Schröer}, Math. Ann. 321, 439--454 (2001; Zbl 1053.14017)]. She also examines the example from [\textit{D. Edidin, B. Hassett, A. Kresch, A. Vistoli}, Am. J. Math. 123, 761--777 (2001; Zbl 1036.14001)] of a normal, nonseparated algebraic surface whose Brauer group is smaller than its cohomological Brauer group.
