The authors propose a new approach to study the existence of periodic solutions for some nonhomegeneous linear partial functional differential equations. The linear part is assumed to be a closed linear operator, the delay part is assumed to be linear and continuous, the input function is assumed to be periodic. The delay is assumed to be infinite and the phase space is axiomatically defined. The approach is based on the geometry of the space. Several results are obtained on the existence of periodic solutions when the space is a UMD space.
