    A Lasota-Yorke (L-Y) transformation \(T\) is a piecewise \(C^ 2\) and expanding self-mapping on \([0,1]\). The limit behavior of \(S_ nf = \sum^{n - 1}_{k = 0} f \circ T^ k\) is studied under the mixing condition and the existence of a unique invariant measure \(\mu\) of \(T\), an L-Y transformation with infinite Markov partition, where \(f\) belongs to some subclass of certain class of functions associated to \(T\) containing all functions of bounded variation and \(\log | T' |\). Main results are the local limit theorems for \(f\) satisfying \(\int fd \mu = 0\) and the asymptotic distributions of the periodic orbit with period \(P (\gamma) : N(f, \gamma) \equiv S_{P (\gamma)} f(x)\). Applications to the Gauss transformation \(T_ Gx = {1 \over x} - [{1 \over x}]\) are also considered. The author's paper [Osaka J. Math. 26, No. 3, 579-595 (1989; Zbl 0746.60038)] is related.
