    Let \(f:\mathbb{C}^2 \to\mathbb{C}\) be a polynomial function and \(B_f\) its bifurcation set (i.e. \(f:\mathbb{C}^2\setminus f^{-1}(B_f) \to\mathbb{C} \setminus B_f\) is a local trivial fibration and \(B_f\) is minimal with this property). Let \(\sum_f\) be the set of critical values of \(f\), then \(\sum_f\subseteq B_f\). \textit{A. G. Kushnirenko} [Invent. Math. 21, 1-31 (1976; Zbl 0328.32007)] proved that \(B_f=\sum_f\) if \(f\) is convenient and Newton nondegenerate. It is proved that in general \(B_f=\sum_f \cup S_f\) with \(S_f\) being the so-called explicit set: Let \(M(f)=\{z\in\mathbb{C}^2 |\text{ there exists }\lambda\in \mathbb{C}\), \(\lambda z=({\overline{\partial f}\over\partial z_1} (z),{\overline {\partial f}\over\partial z_2}(z)\}\), then \[ S_f=\bigl\{ c\in \mathbb{C} |\text{ there exists }\{z^{(k)}\} \subseteq M(f),\;\lim\|z^{(k)} \|=\infty,\;\lim f(z^{(i)})= c\bigl\}. \]
