Die Autoren untersuchen eine gemischte Kollokations-Spektralmethode, in der die gesuchte Funktion in einen hochfrequenten und einen niederfrequenten Anteil zerlegt wird. Nach einem einführenden Abschnitt, in dem Resultate über Pseudospektral- bzw. Kollokationsmethoden zusammengestellt sind, wird im 2. Abschnitt die Zerlegung und ihre Implementierung für die lineare Wärmeleitungsgleichung diskutiert. Im 3. Abschnitt wird die Burgers- Gleichung mit periodischen Randbedingungen behandelt. Der 4. Abschnitt ist der Implementierung des Verfahrens und der hierzu erforderlichen schnellen Fourier-Transformation gewidmet.
