The author studies the uniqueness problem of meromorphic functions when some special differential polynomials share a non-zero finite value or a fixed point. He uses the notion of weighted value sharing to answer some questions posed by \textit{R. S. Dyavanal} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 374, No. 1, 335--345 (2011; Zbl 1202.30054)]. The Nevanlinna calculus is the main tool in proving the theorems.
