In this survey paper, addressed to a nonexpert audience, the relations between several notions of chaos for discrete dynamical systems are investigated: (1) Martelli's chaos; (2) Devaney's chaos; (3) positive topological entropy; (4) distributional chaos; (5) \(\omega\)-chaos; (6) Block-Coppel chaos; (7) Li-Yorke chaos. In the interval case, (1) and (2) are equivalent, and (3), (4), (5), and (6) are equivalent as well. Moreover (1)--(2) imply (3)--(6) and (3)--(6) imply (7), and the converse implications need not hold (the paper erroneously states that all (1)--(6) are equivalent). As indicated in the paper, some valid implications in the interval setting need not hold for general compact metric spaces without isolated points.
