Let \(H^2_d\) be the Drury-Arveson space, that is, the reproducing kernel Hilbert space on the unit ball \(\mathbb{B}_d\) of \(\mathbb{C}^d\), \(d\leq\infty\), with kernel \(k_d(z,w)=(1-z\overline w)^{-1}\). Let \(\mathcal{M}_d=\text{Mult}(H^2_d)\) denote the multiplier algebra of \(H^2_d\). Given a set \(E\subset H^2_d\), consider the variety \[ V=V_E=\big\{z\in \mathbb{B}_d: f(z)=0 \text{ for all } f\in E\big\}. \] Denote by \(\overline{V}\), \(\partial V\) and \(H(V)\) the closure of \(V\) on \(\mathbb{B}_d\), the boundary of \(V\) and the space of holomorphic functions on \(V\), respectively. For a variety \(V\), let \(\mathcal{F}_V=\overline{\text{span}}\{k_d(\cdot,\lambda): \lambda\in V\}\) and let \(\mathcal{M}_V=\text{Mult}(\mathcal{F}_V)=\{f|_V: \,f\in\mathcal{M}_d\}\). The main goal of this paper is to study the relation between the existence of a biholomorphic map \(h\) from \(V=V_E\) onto \(W=V_F\) and the existence of an isomorphism \(\phi\) from \(\mathcal{M}_V\) onto \(\mathcal{M}_W\). In order to study this relation, the authors prove the following result: Let \(g:\Sigma\to \mathbb{B}_d\) be a proper map from a finite Riemann surface \(\Sigma\) onto a variety \(V\), which is non-singular and injective on the complemet of a finite set in \(\Sigma\). Assume that \(g\) is \(\mathcal{C}^2\) on \(\overline{\Sigma}\) and that it is one-to-one and transversal on \(\partial \Sigma\). Then, the composition with \(g\) induces an isomorphism from \(\mathcal{F}_V\) onto \(H^2_g(\Sigma)=\big\{f\in H^2(\Sigma): f=F\circ g, F\in H(V)\big\}\), and an isomorphism of \(\mathcal{M}_W\) onto \[ H^\infty_g(\Sigma)=\big\{f\in H^\infty(\Sigma): f=F\circ g, F\in H(V)\big\}. \] Applying this result, the authors show that if \(g\), \(\Sigma\) and \(V\) satisfy the above properties, and \(h:V\to W\) is a biholomorphic map that satisfies the same assumptions as \(g\), then the composition with \(h\) induces an isomorphism from \(\mathcal{M}_W\) onto \(\mathcal{M}_V\). In the particular case where \(V\) and \(W\) are finite Riemann surfaces, it is proved that \(H^\infty(V)\) and \(H^\infty(W)\) are isomorphic if and only if \(V\) and \(W\) are biholomorphic. The paper also contains results of the above type for the case where \(V\) and \(W\) are varieties with a finite number of disjoint components.
