The authors extend the notion of \(B\)-splitting, see \textit{J. E. Peris} [Linear Algebra Appl. 154--156, 45--58 (1991; Zbl 0734.15008)] to a new matrix decomposition of real square singular matrices, called \(B_D\)-splittings. They prove several characterizations of Drazin monotonicity using \(B_D\)-splitting and give a new decomposition called \(D\)-regular splitting which is an extension of the regular splitting. Furthermore, some various convergence and comparison theorems for \(B_D\)-splittings are presented.
