A general probabilistic representation of a strongly continuous operator semigroup \(\{\) T(t); \(t\geq 0\}\) was given by \textit{D. Pfeifer} [Semigroup Forum 30, 17-34 (1984; Zbl 0532.60007)] who also studied the rate of convergence of his representation formula [J. Approximation Theory 43, 271-296 (1985; Zbl 0572.47028)]. In the paper under review, the author presents the saturation property of Pfeifer's representation. The author shows that under several assumptions, the saturation property is equivalent to \(T(t)=I+Bt\), where \(t\geq 0\), B is a bounded linear operator with \(B^ 2=0\) and I is the identity operator. Note that Pfeifer's representation formula applies to many representations of operator semigroups.
