A remark on Whittaker functions on SL\((n,{\mathbb R})\). (Q1777621): Difference between revisions

Let \(G\) be the group SL\((n,\mathbb R)\) of square matrices of order \(n\) with determinant \(1\) and real coefficients. Let \(K\) be the orthogonal group SO\((n)\), a maximal compact subgroup of \(G\). Let \(P=MAN\) be the Langlands decomposition of the standard minimal parabolic subgroup of \(G\). In the paper under review, the author proves several results concerning the basis function of the space of class one Whittaker functions associated with some characters \(\nu\) of \(A\) and \(\eta\) of \(N\). Actually the main result is a proof of a conjecture of Stade about some recursive integral formula for the basis function, involving \(K\)-Bessel functions.
