Starting from incompressible, inviscid Navier-Stokes equations (and the continuity equation) describing the flow of blood in the aorta, a higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equation is derived for the slowly varying amplitude of the flow function. In the next step, traveling wave solutions are found. Moreover, a meshless radial basis function method is introduced and discussed.
