This paper generalizes the Bogomolov-Tian-Todorov unobtructedness theorem for compact Calabi-Yau manifolds (cf. [\textit{G. Tian}, Adv. Ser. Math. Phys. 1, 629--646 (1987; Zbl 0696.53040)], and \textit{A. N. Todorov} [Commun. Math. Phys. 126, No. 2, 325--346 (1989; Zbl 0688.53030)]) to a certain non-compact case, and studies the relevant Weil-Petersson metric. Let \(\bar{X} \) be a compact Kähler orbifold, and \(\bar{D}\in |-K_{\bar{X}}|\) be an effective divisor such that \(X=\bar{X}\backslash \bar{D}\) is smooth, and the orbifold normal bundle of \(\bar{D}\) is biholomorphic to \((\mathbb{C}\times D)/\mathbb{Z}_{m}\) where \(D\) is smooth. For any Kähler class \(\alpha \) on \(\bar{X} \), there is a Calabi-Yau matric \(g_{CY}\), i.e. Ricci-flat Kähler metric, representing \(\alpha|_{X} \) (cf. [\textit{G. Tian} and \textit{S. T. Yau}, J. Am. Math. Soc. 3, No. 3, 579--609 (1990; Zbl 0719.53041); \textit{M. Haskins} et al., J. Differ. Geom. 101, No. 2, 213--265 (2015; Zbl 1332.32028)]. The Calabi-Yau metric \(g_{CY}\) is asymptotically cylindrical, i.e., for a compact subset \(K\subset X\), \(X\backslash K\) is diffeomorphic to \(N\times (0, \infty)\), and on which \(|\nabla^{k}(g_{CY}-g_{\infty}) |= \mathcal{O}(e^{-\delta t})\) for a \(\delta >0\) where \(g_{\infty}=h+dt^{2}\). The complete Calabi-Yau manifold \((X, g_{CY})\) is called a compactifiable asymptotically cylindrical Calabi-Yau manifold with compactification \(\bar{X} \). The main result of this paper is that the deformation theory of compactifiable asymptotically cylindrical Calabi-Yau manifolds is unobstructed. The proof is combining the deformation theory of compactifiable complex manifolds due to \textit{Y. Kawamata} [Math. Ann. 235, 247--265 (1978; Zbl 0363.32015)], the detailed study of \(L^{2}\)-Dolbeault-Hodge theory on \(X\), and a sharp regularity theorem for compactifiable asymptotically cylindrical Calabi-Yau metrics, i.e. they are so called polyhomogeneous exact b-metrics. A corollary is that any Ricci-flat asymptotically cylindrical metric sufficiently close to a compactifiable asymptotically cylindrical Calabi-Yau metric is Kähler for some nearby deformation of the complex structure. The only previous generalization of the Bogomolov-Tian-Todorov unobtructedness theorem to the non-compact case is obtained by Hein for the same class of Calabi-Yau manifolds of dimension 2 (cf. [\textit{H.-J. Hein}, J. Am. Math. Soc. 25, No. 2, 355--393 (2012; Zbl 1239.53066)]). Then the authors study relative deformations, and show that one can define a Weil-Petersson metric \(g_{WP}\) on the relative moduli space \(\mathcal{M}_{\mathrm{rel}}\) via the relevant Kodaira-Spencer tensor. Finally, it is proven that the Weil-Petersson metric \(g_{WP}\) is the curvature of a certain line bundle on \(\mathcal{M}_{\mathrm{rel}}\), which generalizes the well known theorem for compact Calabi-Yau manifolds. The key step of the proof is a local \(L^{2}\)-index theorem that generalizes the family index theorem of \textit{R. B. Melrose} and \textit{P. Piazza} [J. Differ. Geom. 46, No. 1, 99--180 (1997; Zbl 0955.58020)], and has independent interests.
