    Let \(\varphi\) be a Schwartz function satisfying the following two conditions: (1) For a fixed \(s\in\mathbb Z^+\), \(\int_{\mathbb R^n}\varphi(x)\,dx=1\) and \(\int_{\mathbb R^n}\varphi(x)x^\theta\,dx=0\) for \(0<| \theta| \leq s,\) where \(\theta=(\theta_1\,\cdots,\,\theta_n)\in\mathbb N^n\) and \(| \theta| =\theta_1+\cdots+\theta_n\); (2) The function \(\Phi(x)=\varphi(x)-\varphi\ast\varphi(x)\) satisfies the (standard) Tauberian condition, namely, for all \(\xi\neq 0\), there exists \(t>0\) such that \(\hat\Phi(t\xi)\neq0\). For \(t>0\), set \(\varphi_t(x)=t^{-n}\varphi(x/t)\). Let \[ {\mathcal N}_s=\left\{f\in L^1_{\text{loc}}(\mathbb R^n): \int_{\mathbb R^n}| f(x)| [1+| x| ]^{-(n+s+1)}\,dx<\infty\right\}. \] For \(\alpha\geq0\), \(1\leq q<\infty\) and \(s\geq[n\alpha]\), a function \(f\in{\mathcal N}_s\) is said to be in \({\text{Lip}}_\varphi(\alpha,q,s)\) if there exists a constant \(C\geq0\) such that \[ \left[| B| ^{-1}\int_B| f(x)-\varphi_{t_B}\ast f(x)| ^q\,dx\right]^{1/q} \leq C| B| ^\alpha \] holds for every ball \(B\), where \(t_B\) is the radius of the ball \(B\). For \(\alpha>0\) and \(s\geq[n\alpha]\), a function \(f \in{\mathcal N}_s\) is said to be in \({\text{Lip}}_\varphi(\alpha,\infty,s)\) if there exists a constant \(C\geq0\) such that \[ {{\text{ess}}\sup_{x\in B}}| f(x)-\varphi_{t_B}\ast f(x)| \leq C| B| ^\alpha \] holds for every ball \(B\). The minimal constant \(C\) satisfying the above estimates is defined to be the norm of \(f\) in these spaces, respectively. The main result of this interesting paper is that the authors establish the equivalence of the classical space \({\text{BMO}}\,(\mathbb R^n)\) and the space \({\text{Lip}}_\varphi(0,q,0)\) for \(1\leq q<\infty\), and the equivalence of the classical Lipschitz space \(L(\alpha,p,s)\) and \({\text{Lip}}_\varphi(\alpha,\,q,\,s)\) for all \(\alpha>0\), \(1\leq p,\) \(q\leq\infty\) and \(s\geq[n\alpha]\).
