Let \(A\) and \(B\) be two unital Banach algebras and let \(T: A \to B\) be an homomorphism satisfying \(T1=1\). In [\textit{R.~Benjamen} et al., Glasg. Math. J. 61, 615--627 (2019; Zbl 1431.46030)], the authors introduced and studied $r$-Fredholm theory relative to \(T\) in general Banach algebras. The present paper is devoted to an $r$-Fredholm theory in the context of ordered Banach algebras. The authors introduce upper $r$-Weyl, contractive upper $r$-Weyl, upper $r$-Browder and contractive upper $r$-Browder elements and provide many examples. The main purpose of the paper is to investigate the following question: Under which conditions are positive almost $r$-invertible $r$-Fredholm elements contractive upper $r$-Browder?
