The author studies the existence of normal integral bases in certain Kummer extensions of the \(n\)-th layer of the cyclotomic \({\mathbb Z}_p\)-extension of a CM field \(K\) containing the \(p\)-th roots of unity. Part I is to appear and for Part II see Zbl 0989.11061.
