    In the paper under review, the authors study the \( k \)-th Riesz means of the arithmetical function \( n/\varphi(n) \), where \( \varphi \) is the usual Euler totient function. To state the main result here, let us write, following [\textit{A. Sankaranarayanan} and \textit{S. K. Singh}, Acta Arith. 170, No. 3, 275--286 (2015; Zbl 1358.11110)], \[ \frac{1}{k!}\sum_{n\le x} \frac{n}{\varphi(n)}\left(1-\frac{n}{x}\right)^k=c_1(k)x+c_2(k)\log x+c_3(k)+E_k(x) \] where \( E_k(x) \) is the error term. Using the Riemann Hypothesis and assuming further that all the zeros of \( \zeta(s) \) on the critical line are simple, they prove that for any \( k\ge 2 \) and \( n>\log\log x/2\log 2, \) there exists a point \( T \) with \( x^4\le T\le x^4+1 \) such that \[ E_k(x)=Y_{k,n}(x,T)x^{-3/4}+O\left(x^{-1+C/\sqrt{\log x}}\left(\frac{\sqrt{\log x}}{(k-1)!}+\frac{1}{k}\right)\right) \] with an absolute constant \( C \), where \( Y_{k,n} \) is the real part of a certain sum involving the values of \( \zeta(s) \) over the ordinates of the zeros below height \( T. \) They conjecture a simpler upper bound for \( E_k(x) \), namely \( E_k(x)\ll x^{-3/4}. \)
