Let \(\varphi:\mathbb R^n\to\mathbb R\) be a convex function whose bounded sections satisfy the engulting property with constant \(K\). We set \[ \text{Eng}(n)=\cup_{k>1}(n,K),\tag{1} \] where by \(\text{Eng}(n,K)\) is denoted the set of all convex function \(\varphi:\mathbb R^n\to\mathbb R\) with the above mentioned properties. The purpose of this paper is to exhibit new characterizations for the engulting property and to describe the quantitative behaviour of functions in \(\text{Eng}(n)\). The authors also stress the importance of convex conjugate functions, in particular, they prove that \(\text{Eng}(n)\) is invariant under conjugation. The last part of the paper is devoted to the constructive estimates of Cafarelli's \(C^{1,\beta}\)-theory.
