The original Hartman-Grobman theorem was a theory to give a coordinate change to a (finite dimensional) vector field around an equilibrium so that the vector field is expressed by a linear ODE. After that several extensions have been obtained. The author deals with a similar linearization problem around an equilibrium for the infinite dimensional dynamical system made by the scalar semilinear parabolic BVP, \[ u_ t=u_{xx} +f(u) \quad\text{in}\quad (0,\pi),\qquad u=0 \quad\text{at}\quad x=0,\pi, \] where \(f\) is a certain real valued smooth function on \(\mathbb{R}\). In this case there arise several difficulties which cannot be dealt with by other work before. The author applies an invariant manifold theory for a semilinear parabolic equation and a foliation theory adequately to overcome the difficulties. A (local) homeomorphism around an equilibrium solution in \(H_ 0^ 1(0,\pi)\) is constructed to transform the above equation into a linear parabolic equation \[ w_ t=w_{xx}+a(x)w \quad\text{in}\quad (0,\pi) \qquad w=0 \quad\text{at}\quad x=0,\pi. \]
