Let \(G\) be a topological group, \(\mathbb{X}\) a topological space and \(m\) a partial action of \(G\) on \(\mathbb{X}.\) For \(x\in \mathbb{X}\) let \(G^x\) be the set of \(g\in G\) such that \(g\cdot x:=m(g,x)\) is defined. Generalizing a result for Polish group actions of \textit{E.G. Effros} [Ann. of Math. 81, 38--55 (1965; Zbl. 0152.33203)] the authors prove the following open mapping theorem for partial group actions: Let \(G\) be an analytic, separable and metrizable group and \(m\) a continuous transitive partial action of \(G\) on a not meager Hausdorff space \(\mathbb{X}.\) Suppose \(G^y\) is open in \(G\) for some \(y\in\mathbb{X}.\) Then the map \(G^x\ni g\mapsto g\cdot x\in\mathbb{X}\) is open for every \(x\in\mathbb{X}.\) Moreover there is given a criterion for \(\mathbb{X}\) being homeomorphic, for some \(x\in \mathbb{X},\) to the coset space \(G^x/G_x\) where \(G_x:=\{g\in G^x \,|\, g\cdot x=x\}.\)
