Let \(F\) be a non-Archimedean local field. The article under review is about certain (complex) representations of \(\mathrm{GL}_n(F)\). An irreducible cuspidal representation of \(\mathrm{GL}_n(F)\) is said to be \textit{epipelagic} (in marine biology, the \textit{epipelagic zone} is the water from the surface of the sea down to 200 metres (Wikipedia)) if its Swan conductor is equal to \(1\). The goal of the article is to give an explicit description of the Langlands parameters of these representations, in terms of elementary representation theory and local class field theory. We refer to the informative introduction for a discussion of the problem in the light of the local Langlands correspondence. The main theorem of the article is in \S 6.2.
